| Introduction | ||||
|
Velvet Paws is a garden cattery
with comfortable, spacious pens and covered outside runs. The sleeping area
is brick built and each individual pen will be heated during the winter
months and kept cool in the summer. Individual pens are fitted with a
radiator, fan, blind, sneeze barrier and cat flap. All runs have an activity
centre and plenty of toys to keep your cats occupied during their stay.
Duvets and bedding are available in all pens but clients are welcome to
bring their own. All boarding pens are thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis
with a change of bedding if required. Each boarder will be given plenty of
individual attention and any special diets or needs will be catered for.
Medication can be administered if required. We now are able to offer
specialist post-operative care and work closely with local veterinary
surgeons, chartered physiotherapists and the RSPCA. |

|
Specialist care is now an option which is
available at Velvet Paws. If you have a cat that has recently had surgery,
is elderly, disabled, incontinent or who is unable to use ramps or ladders,
we have appropriate facilities on offer. There is a pen available which is
all on one level which consists of a heated bedding area and a small run
which has been built high up so that your cat can enjoy the outside and have
a full view of the garden. There is also the option of an indoor pen with
ramp and shelf which can be removed if necessary. For cats requiring
constant supervision we have pens within the house that have been custom
built to look after such cases. Having owned cats for 20 years and worked as
fosterers for the RSPCA for four years, we have hand reared numerous
litters of kittens, cared for elderly cats and taken in many road traffic
accident cases which have required rehabilitation. These cats have often had
major orthopaedic or spinal surgery and we work closely with local
veterinary surgeons and specialists to ensure that they have the best
post-operative care possible. Back to Top |
